ชาวบ้านที่บ้านเหล่าอุดม ต.บ้านจันทน์ อ.บ้านดุง จ.อุดรธานี ว่า พบหน่อไม้ประหลาดคล้ายเศียรพญานาค มีชาวบ้านแห่ไปดูและขอเลขเด็ด จึงเดินทางไปพิสูจน์ พบว่าที่บริเวณกอไผ่เลี้ยงด้านหลังบ้านของบ้านเลขที่ 339 หมู่ 9 บ้านเหล่าอุดม ซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่ของบ้านของ น.ส.บุปผา จันทร์ไทย อายุ 39 ปี เจ้าของบ้าน เมื่อไปถึงพบชาวบ้านแห่มาดูหน่อไม้ประหลาดคล้ายเศียรพญานาค และพากันนำธูปเทียนและน้ำแดงมาถวาย ตามความเชื่อของชาวบ้าน ขณะที่ชาวบ้านเชื่อว่าหมู่บ้านแห่งนี้เป็นดินแดนพญานาคแน่นอนเพราะเคยเจอต้นไม้ประหลาดมีเศียรคล้ายพญานาคมาแล้วหลายที่ คือ ต้นกล้วยเศียรพญานาค ต้นอินทะผาลัมพญานาค และมาครั้งนี้เป็นหน่อไม้คล้ายเศียรพญานาค และชาวบ้านก็มีโชคมาแล้ว
