จากชาวบ้านว่าได้มีต้นตะเคียนอายุราวนับร้อยปีลอยมาติดฝั่งลำแม่น้ำมูลที่หมู่บ้านดง หมู่ที่2ตำบลกุดขาคีมอำเภอรัตนบุรีจังหวัดสุรินทร์จึงได้เดินทางเข้าไปตรวจสอบ พบชาวบ้านจำนวน30กว่าคนกำลังยืนมุงดูกันเต็มราวบันไดทางขึ้นของบ้านคุณตาพุดทา มาเสมอ อายุ82บ้านเลขที่6/3บ้านดงม.2
โดยคุณตาพุดทา ได้บอกว่าก่อนที่จะเห็นต้นตะเคียนลอยมาติดกับบันไดข้างบ้านตนนั้นเมื่อคืนลูกเขยที่ชื่อว่าหลงได้ฝันว่าได้มีลูกหมูสีดำจำนวน5 ถึง6 ตัว วิ่งเข้ามอยู่ที่บ้านแต่ตนเองไม่ได้คิดอะไรพอตื่นเช้าก็มาเห็นต้นตะเคียนมาติดบันไดบ้าน โดยต้นตะเคียนดังกล่าวชาวบ้านเรียกว่าแม่ต้นตะเคียนทอง ซึ่งมีอายุราวนับ100 ปี จึงได้พากันจัดขันธุ์ 5 ขันธุ์ 8 ตามความเชื่อว่าต้นตะเคียนดังกล่าวที่มาติดราวบันไดนั้นอาจจะนำโชคลาภมาให้ พร้อมกับจุดธูปเทียนเพื่อที่จะขอโชคลาภ
