วัดศรีมงคลรัตนาราม ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี 2536 โดยการบริจาคที่นาของ นายหวยและนางสมัย เพ็งพันธ์ รวม 50 ไร่ เป็นวัดป่าสายปฏิบัติธรรมกัมมัฏฐาน ฝ่ายธรรมยุติ ปัจจุบันมีพระภิกษุสามเณรจำพรรษา 20 รูป ต่อมา พระเจ้าวรวงศ์เธอ พระองค์เจ้าโสมสวลี พระวรราชาทินัดดามาตุ เสด็จไปยังวัดศรีมงคลรัตนาราม อำเภออุทุมพรพิสัย จังหวัดศรีสะเกษ ทรงวางศิลาฤกษ์ พระมหาเจดีย์ศรีมงคลเกศแก้วมณีเศรษฐียามารามสิทธิราชบูชา ซึ่งพระครูวิจิตรวินัยคุณ เจ้าอาวาสและพุทธศาสนิกชนร่วมกันจัดสร้างขึ้นเพื่อเป็นสถานที่บรรจุพพระบรมสารีริกธาตุที่อัญเชิญมาจากประเทศอินเดีย รวมถึงพระเกศาธาตุและพระอัฐิธาตุของพระอรหันต์ และใช้เป็นสถานที่ประกอบศาสนกิจ เพื่อสืบทอดศาสนา โดยจำลองรูปแบบให้คล้ายตั้งอยู่บนเขาพระสุเมรี เป็นเจดีย์ สูง 59 เมตร รวม 5 ชั้น ชั้นที่ 1 และ 2 ใช้ประกอบศาสนกิจ ชั้นที่ 3 เป็นอุโบสถ์ สำหรับทำสังฆกรรม และเป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์มหาราช จัดแสดงพระราชกรณียกิจของพระมหากษัตริย์ทุกพระองค์ และพิพิธภัณฑ์พื้นบ้านของจังหวัดศรีสะเกษ ชั้นที่ 4 บรรจุพระเกศาธาตุและพระอัฐิธาตุของพระอรหันต์ ชั้นที่ 5 บรรจุ พระบรมสารีริกธาตุขององค์สมเด็จสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า
