ลาวมีกำหนดฉลองสงกรานต์หรือวันปีใหม่ระหว่างวันที่ 14 – 16 เม.ย. โดยถือเป็นเทศกาลที่มีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งของประเทศและจะถือเป็นครั้งแรกที่ทางรถไฟสายจีน-ลาวทางฝั่งลาวให้บริการเดินรถในช่วงเทศกาลที่มีการเดินทางคึกคักนับตั้งแต่เริ่มต้นดำเนินงานในเดือนธ.ค.ปีที่ผ่านมา
