ที่ วัดพระธาตุพนมวรมหาวิหาร อ.ธาตุพนม จ.นครพนม พระเทพวรมุนี เจ้าอาวาสวัดพระธาตุพนม ที่ปรึกษาเจ้าคณะภาค 10 เป็นประธานฝ่ายสงฆ์ พร้อมด้วย นายปิตานนท์ ปัญญา นายอำเภอธาตุพนม นำข้าราชการ ประชาชน นักท่องเที่ยว พุทธศาสนิกชน ทั้งชาวไทยชาวลาว ร่วมทำบุญประกอบพิธีเวียนเทียนรอบองค์พระธาตุพนม พร้อมกราบไหว้ขอพรองค์พระธาตุพนม สิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์คู่บ้านคู่เมือง อายุเก่าแก่กว่า 2,500 ปี ภายในบรรจุพระอุรังคธาตุ หรือกระดูกส่วนหน้าอกของพระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า รวมถึงถวายเครื่องสักการะบูชา เพื่อเป็นสิริมงคล เนื่องในวันสำคัญทางศาสนา อาสาฬหบูชา และเทศกาลวันเข้าพรรษา ทั้งนี้ก่อนที่จะมีการประกอบพิธีเวียนเทียน ประมาณ 30 นาที ได้เกิดเมฆฝน ลมพายุ พัดปกคลุมไปทั่วบริเวณวัดพระธาตุพนมวรมหาวิหาร และพื้นที่เขตเทศบาลตำบลธาตุพนม แต่สุดท้ายในช่วงประกอบพิธีเวียนเทียน ฝนกับไม่ต้อง เหมือนสั่งได้ ทำให้พุทธศาสนิกชน ทั้งชาวไทยชาวลาว ได้ร่วมกันประกอบพิธีเวียนเทียนถวายเป็นพุทธบูชา ถึงแม้ภายหลังจะมีฝนตกลงมาโปรยปรายแต่ยังสามารถร่วมพิธีเวียนเทียนจนแล้วเสร็จ
